New York State is providing $250 million through the CFHF to fund electrification retrofits in at least 10,000 units of multifamily housing that serve disadvantaged and Low-Moderate Income (LMI) communities.
Funding is available to retrofit and upgrade existing multifamily buildings of 5-50 units
Funding awards may provide up to $25,000 per unit for eligible buildings
Conversion to heat pumps and other funded upgrades will improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions associated with building operations
Retrofits will focus on replacing older and less energy-efficient systems with all-electric, high-performance heating, cooling, and hot water heating systems
Learn more about other qualifications and approved use of funds at the CFHF homepage.
The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) was chosen by the State to administer the program. In order to maximize its impact and reach, CPC is partnering with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), Enterprise Community Partners, and Inclusive Prosperity Capital. In addition, local community-based organizations from across the state will provide outreach, screening and other support to the program.
